Welcome to Cooee Backpackers in the vibrant inner city suburb of Kings Cross Sydney.
At Cooee Backpackers hostel Kings Cross, we offer you the best of the best, not only in our standards of accommodation but also in activities & things to do in & around the beautiful harbour city of Sydney.
From Cooee backpackers sightseeing & touring couldn’t be easier!! The friendly staff will assist you in organising tours, local and interstate, other popular activities such as diving courses, giving advice about obtaining anything from phonecards to buying a second hand car!
We have an ideal location in Sydney in that we are right above Kings cross train station, this enables you to travel quickly & cheaply around Sydney & beyond, you could be in Bondi (pictured above) or the City in 5 minutes from our door (pictured below).
A range of tour operators are more than happy to pick you up at our front door for day trips to, Blue Mountains, surf trips, eco tours, wildlife parks etc.
As well as this, the government operated bus day trips stop & pick up at our front door, these buses would take you around Sydney, to the beaches including the famous ‘Bondi Beach’, Olympic Park, & around some of Sydney’s affluent suburbs, so you can get to see how the other half live!!! (If that floats your boat)
Of course if trains & buses aren’t your gig then the old fashioned form of transport (walking) is available & to walk to the Opera House through the beautiful waterfront parkland known as the Domain would take 30-50 mins, but it is a beautiful walk & so many iconic sites are to be seen along the way.
The Domain is a beautiful headland park & I can’t think of anything much better than packing a picnic & relaxing in the park for a few hours watching Sydney go by.
The Domain is the secret location of Sydneysiders on New years eve, it is the best location to see the world famous Sydney Harbour fireworks display, but only about 7 million people know that secret so don’t tell anyone (ssshhhh!!)
Kings Cross is locally known as The Cross or KX, It is home to all the night clubs you could ever want to party at.
If the clubs in the cross aren’t your thing we can get you free entry into the best up market clubs in Sydney, i.e., HOME, CARGO, we have the know to get you on the door list.
We have a very close relationship with the best backpacker bar in Sydney ‘THE GAFF’, we can get you in for free & fill you with free drinks, even if you don’t drink you should come with us it is a blast!
Close to us is a wide variety of cheap eat cafes, we provide free food either directly or through our friends at THE GAFF.
Cooee Backpackers hostel is spread over 5 levels comprising 2,4,6 and 8 bed Dorm rooms. For those who prefer privacy there are rooms with ensuites. All linen and blankets are supplied and are included in room rate. At Cooee we offer free breakfast - a great way to start the day and meet the other guests! Other features include fully air-conditioned premises, Roof Terrace BBQ, Free Internet, Pool Table, Common Room, Dining Room, DVD Players and Cable TV, Coin-operated laundry room, and much more.
We offer clean cheap rooms, our building is fully air conditioned, we try our best to accommodate your every need, we can’t help it though if your roomy is a grub, (the perils of room sharing).
Many, many long & true friendships have been made through this hostel & we are so very proud of this reputation.
